Microsoft: Windows 11 will be available from October 5

Microsoft today confirmed that Windows 11 will be available from October 5. On October 5, Microsoft will begin rolling out the free Windows 11 upgrade to qualifying Windows 10 PCs. New PCs will also come preloaded with Windows 11 from that date.

The free Windows 11 upgrade will be offered on a phased basis with an emphasis on quality. New qualifying devices will be offered the upgrade first. Microsoft expects all eligible devices to be offered the free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022.
