Along with launching a new preview build of Windows 11 in the Dev Channel, Microsoft announced some improvements for the Microsoft Store which will soon host third-party Windows 11 widgets. The update introduces performance improvements, something you can’t get too much of, and discovery improvements.
Microsoft Store build 22209 includes the following changes:
When searching for games in the Store, we now clearly indicate when they are “Available with Game Pass” along with the currently available price. On the detail page of such a game, we have updated the button design and added a new section to let you know what is included in the subscription.
We’ve improved the library experience with simplified options and improved performance.
The Microsoft Store will automatically install build 22209 if you are running Windows 11 Dev builds. It’s also worth noting that today’s changes and improvements will eventually come to Windows 10, which also supports the redesigned Microsoft Store.
In case you missed it, Microsoft recently announced the Microsoft Store Ads platform, allowing developers to promote their apps in search results. Additionally, the company revealed that Android apps on Windows 11 will soon be available in over 30 countries.
