Here’s how much Microsoft’s Windows 365 Cloud PC will cost

Yesterday at the Inspire 2021 Partner Conference, Microsoft announced Windows 365 Cloud PC, a new cloud service that will allow organizations to experience Windows 10 or Windows 11 on any device from the cloud. Windows 365 Cloud PC is based on the Azure Virtual Desktop service and will be available for organizations from August 2.

At the time, Microsoft had not disclosed the price of the service, but today the company has let the cost per seat of a configuration slip during a presentation.

The screenshot shows that a configuration with two processors, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage will cost $ 31 per month, under the Windows 365 Business option, which has 300 users or less.

This pricing conforms to industry standards, such as Citrix’s remote desktop solution.

In a statement, Microsoft said it was the cost of a single setup:

“This is a price for a single SKU. Microsoft will have many more options, both in terms of configurations and pricing, to share when the product is generally available on August 2.

With Windows 365, organizations can choose the size of Cloud PC based on their needs with predictable pricing per user, per month. Since Windows will be running in the cloud, users can boot instantly to their personal cloud PC and stream their business apps, data, and settings to any device. You just need a web browser to access the Windows 365 Cloud PC. So you can enjoy Windows 365 from any device including your Mac, iPad, Linux PC, and Android device.

Cloud PC represents the next big step in cloud computing that connects the Microsoft cloud and personal devices in a powerful new way. With the announcement of Windows 365, we invite organizations, employees, and partner stores to imagine experiences with Windows and their devices, and we look forward to creating new scenarios for users around the world.

Microsoft also makes it easier to provision, deploy, and manage Cloud PCs for corporate IT departments. Microsoft Endpoint Manager will showcase Cloud PCs alongside traditional physical PCs for easy management. The Endpoint Analytics dashboard will allow IT to easily identify cloud PC environments that are not performing well and upgrade them if necessary.

Windows 365 Features:

  • Obtain, provision, and deploy in minutes, with optional automated operating system updates.
  • Gives the user anywhere access to their personalized Windows desktop experience.
  • Adapt the calculation and configurations for an elastic workforce.
  • Pick up where you left off on the device of your choice.
  • Optimize experiences on Windows endpoints.
  • Scale with confidence with per-user pricing.
