Yesterday we informed you about some nasty VPN and RDP connectivity issues on Windows servers with Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) enabled.

These issues started occurring after users installed the latest Patch Tuesday rollout updates.

Today, however, we return with news related to Windows Server, but more on the bright side this time, so you should be satisfied.

Windows Server 2022 now works with WSL 2 distributions

To be more exact, Microsoft has announced that Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 2 distributions now run on Windows Server 2022.

The Redmond tech giant let previous testers try out the feature via GitHub almost a month ago, so people already knew that.

That being said, since the deployment of update KB5014678, all Windows Server 2022 users have also received this latest feature.

In case you still need to update your system to get WSL 2 support on your Windows server, just make sure you have KB5014678 installed.

So, once this cumulative update has been applied to your Windows server, you are ready to kick things off and start using WSL.

Don’t worry, it’s a simple process, but if you need more help installing it, Microsoft has prepared a special documentation page that will also give you more links to get started.

Also note that if you encounter any technical issues, Microsoft asks you to report them on the WSL GitHub repository.
