Microsoft’s Windows 11 “Designer” app leaks online

It seems that Microsoft is developing a new application for Windows 11 known as “Designer”. Thanks to the leaked images, it looks like the app is both real and advanced enough to look almost complete.

Designer was found by MarcheCat, along with an associated URL (designer.microsoft.com). So if you want to see for yourself, you can right away. However, you will need a Microsoft account to enter.

Unfortunately, it’s not entirely clear what the Designer app is. You may recall that Microsoft once used the new Designer, specifically for a feature in PowerPoint. Microsoft has maintained the feature since then with regular updates.

It is unclear if the new app is related to this feature. If so, Microsoft could bring Designer tools in PowerPoint to the wider Windows 11 ecosystem. Alternatively, the new Designer app may be something entirely new.

Windows 11 22H2

Earlier this month, Microsoft began splitting Windows 11 Insider Previews, suggesting the platform’s first major update is nearing completion.

Microsoft has now officially split Windows 11 test builds into Dev and Beta channels. This means that Windows Insiders can no longer move between channels. However, Microsoft is giving users 10 days to revert to the Beta Channel if they accidentally install the more unstable Dev Channel update.

Tip of the day: After years of carrying around a laptop, you inevitably build up a menagerie of Wi-Fi networks. your computer already remembers. At this point, it may be beneficial to make Windows forget about a Wi-Fi network and delete its network profile.
