Microsoft and AMD to Fix Ryzen Bug on Windows 11 PCs Next Week, Telecom News, ET Telecom

San Francisco: Chipmaker AMD recently released information about a pair of bugs that can reduce the performance of Ryzen processors running Windows 11 by up to 15% and now a new report has claimed that Microsoft is planning to release an update on October 19. , followed by a driver update from AMD on October 21 to resolve the issue.
Microsoft has said the new update is not on and will not push Windows 11 towards devices with AMD Ryzen and suggests owners of those PCs refrain from updating manually, GSMArena reports .

The first bug affects the L3 cache and increases the latency up to three times. The second bug relates to the “preferred kernel” feature which allows a system to use the fastest individual processor cores in a processor.

Windows 11 is now available as a free upgrade on qualifying Windows 10 PCs and new PCs preinstalled with Windows 11 worldwide.

New preinstalled Windows 11 devices have started rolling out from partners like ASUS, HP and Lenovo, and more will soon be available from partners like Acer and Dell.
