A new Apple app is coming to the Microsoft Windows 10 Store

Unlike Microsoft, which has nearly 90 apps in the Apple App Store, Apple only has 2 apps in the Microsoft Store – iTunes and iCloud.

That number could soon increase by 1, according to Alumia, which monitors the flow of upcoming app releases.

A new @Apple app soon available on the Microsoft Store? 👀

Sadly, they wouldn’t be drawn to the app we should expect, but there are two obvious top contenders – Apple Music and Apple TV+.

Of the two like Apple TV+ is the greater unmet need, given that Apple Music is accessible through the existing iTunes app (although at some point iTunes for Windows is bound to die.)

Apple TV+ is an ad-free subscription TV service from Apple which was introduced by the company in November 2019 and has been heavily invested by the company. Apple has also been working to get the app to as many platforms as possible, including for example Samsung’s smart TVs.

The recent arrival of the Amazon Prime Video app on Windows and the resurgence in PC sales suggest that Apple could improve its return on investment and increase its user base by offering an app for the second largest screen of most homes.
